Babs of the Brock
"Birsay that is"
Babs was excited it looked like the See was running out, you can see the Paff over to the Island.
Babs wanted to go straight away, Marge was not too sure, she said there might be Sharks and Eels waiting to get us!
Babs told Marge not to worry Sharks are more scared of her than she is of them!
Now how do I get to the Beech?
Blinkin Nora, Not this way I fink
Marge told me to get away from the cliff and follow her !
Hope Phils got the Handing brake on in "The Beast" it looks a bit scarey up here!
Marge led Babs to a secret set of steps down the cliff, We now had to wait....
And Wait......
Fink I might have a bit of exploring
Poor Phil, Babs bets he would have loved these Skimmers.
He, He better not tell Marge Babs had found a Shell on the Beech
She would run a mile!
Oh my goodness, Babs has found a Body on the Beech now.
Wonder if it fell in the See and drowned?
Wonder what it is?
Marge said it was a Dolphin and had probably been attacked by a Shark or an Eel.
Babs was not sure if this was right but whatever it was, "It Sure Stinks now!"
That was enough for Marge, she was off.
Fink she might have made a swear word while she left too, Poor Phil bet he will be in for an ear straightening now.
He He.
Right "Babs Wogers", your on your own now.
Just look straight ahead and walk quickly like Mrs Trotty and you will be OK.
Hope there is no big Crabs in the way though!
That See weed looks very tasty though, if Phil was here he would get Babs some of that!
As its only Babs I'd better crack on theres a long way to go!
Ah, so thats how the See goes down, someone takes a plug out!
I wonder who's job that is, Bet they need some rather large Wellingtuns to get to the plug, and where does he put it till its empty?
All these questions, wish Phil was here he knows stuff like that.
Looks like the Baff, I mean the See, is nearly empty.
Babs better get a shift on now there is a long way to go
Here you see Babs on Birsay Beech, probably the first ever Sheep to set Hoof on the island.
No time for Skimmers though!
Blinkin flip, Babs has been spotted by a Vulture, Keep calm young lady.
Vultures don't attack moving Sheep.
Mind you come to fink about it, Is there any "Vultures" in the Orkneys?
Perhaps its just a See gall!
Mmm, wonder who arranged all these rocks like this?
Babs did wonder if they needed "Plaining permission" to do all this.
Lucky they did not have Cherry Willingams "parish council".
They would probably object because its not in keeping or they would be worried in case the grass got cut, blah, blah.
Phil says they should all be shot!
Look at this, This was the original builders "Planning permission" sign.
Phil had to do one of these so he could build his garage.
Mind you his sign only lasted 21 days, this one has been here for 1000 years!
Crikey, they did build their houses close to the edges in them days.
Bet they had to be careful putting out the Milk bottles at night!
Can't stop, its still quite a trot to the Lighting House at the top of the Island.
Better get a shift on.
Bloomin Flip Flip, Fink I have just laddered my pants on this Bramble Wire.
Wonder if Marge has brought her Nitting Needles so she can sew em back up for me.
This fence does seem to be rather high, But I have to say that its amazing that its still there after 1000 years
Phils fence at home fell over when Mart jumped on it, and it was only 3 weeks old at the time, He He.
I Hope I can get down now!
Ouch............Flip....... Ouch...............Drat......... Ouch..............
Bloomin wires stuck on me bum
Babs will be Blue and Black by the time she reaches the bloomin lighting House.
Now which ways the Lighthouse. Babs Finks she should follow the Flat grass road.
What do you fink?
Phew, its a blinkin steep hill, Babs is Knackered, Fink I will take a breaver!
Cor, look! You can see the "Beast", its miles away!
Wow, I've made it! This is the Brough of Birsay Lighthouse, Babs has always wanted to see it.
It was built in 1925 to stop Ships crashing into the Island, It was later converted to Solar power once someone invented it.
Also it was built by a man who had sumfink to do wiff Steam trains, or his brother or somfin!
Well looks like Babs has reached the top of the World, I bet Phil would like to do some skimmers from here.
Babs had better set off home now, Marge might be worried.
Phew thats a bit of luck, the paff is still here. looks like Babs will get her tea after all!
Hang on!
Bloomin Cheek the Beasts curtains are closed, looks like Marge and Phil have gone to bed already!
Marge !....Phil !.....Let me in !.........Wheres my Tee !
