"Biggles" Mel gets his Wings

The Flight

The real Peelot came forward, he looked a bit cross. He told Mel off for pressing buttons when he did not know what they did.
Phil said he does that at work all the time!

Mr Peelot made Mel put on his flying elmet, he said it had earphones to talk through!
He was still a bit cross about Mel fiddling and said that Babs could not go up wiff Mel and he would go up himself to keep an eye on the old fella.
Poor Mel!

Babs still wanted to go so I hid on the wing, nobody would see me.
Drat it, Marge saw me and sent Phil to grab me off!

Clarkey said I would be OK if I hung on the back bit like this, Phil thought it looked safe enuff.
Again Marge said "No Chance".
Bloomin Marge she can be a right spoilsport sometimes!

Viv rushed over to speak to Mel. Mel thought she was concerned about him and his forfcoming flight.
Viv said "You Know, that Steve Clarke is a really nice chap".
Poor Mel he he.

Marge said Mel did look like a real Peelot, Phil said he did look like a real p....
Marge smacked him round the head and he started to cry again,
Poor Phil!

Struff, when Mel set off it was very noisy, Wish Babs had brought her ear dementors.
I do hope Mel behaves when he is in the sky or Viv won't let him go again.
I also hope the Peelot remembers to shut his door before he takes off or he might fall out if they turn quickly then Mel will have to drive it on his own!

Fank goodness for that, the Peelot heard Babs call and shouted Fanks.
Babs finks the Peelot was not paying enuff attention because he missed the runningway and took off on the field,
Just missing the red sign in the middle, Phil said Mel must have "Hit Himself", Why would he have done that?
Marge said "Don't ask!"

While we were waiting to see if Mel came back, Babs had a quick look round the Petrol truck.
Babs wanted to have a sit in the drivers cab, Phil said it was this way "Up the Ladder"
What a silly way to get in, surely some doors on the side would have been better!
I wondered why Clarkey was laughing. Fink I have been "sold a cup" bloomin Phil finks he was funny.

Babs was getting a bit worried now, Mel had been gone hours, Mouse said "Perhaps he was lost, Clarkey fought he might have crunched into the ground.
Phil said Clarkey reads too many horror books and Mel would be back soon!

Phew, Phil was right again, Mel was safe and sound!

Andy the plumber said he fought Mel was driving the plane now because he was using too much Rudder and was not going in a straight line!
Phil said Mel was "Yawing", Babs did not believe this cos Mel said he had an early night so would not even be tired!

Marge said they were down wind to land, Phil said there was not any wind so how could they be down wind?
This earned him another slap, Poor Phil!

Everybody cheered and clapped when the "Lion Moth" touched down, Mel looked a bit shy and kept his head down!
Perhaps Phil was right, Mel was Yawing earlier and had fell asleep now!

When the engine stopped making a noise, the Peelot asked Mel if he enjoyed it?

Mel said he had slept through most of it and could he have another go?

Viv told Mel not to be silly because she had left a pie in the oven and they had to go soon.
Mel thought she meant Mouse was coming to tea cos he eats all the pies normally!
Mel asked for a quick picture wiff Babs for his wallit, he is a soppy old bloke that Mel!

While the humands had a cup of tee, Babs went to have a look at another little plane that had just wizzed over our heads
Marge said it is a Chipmonk and its very fast. Phil said he had flew in one of these!

Mmm, this one has got a lid on, perhaps Marge will let Babs have a go in it sometime!

Back at the tee table Mel was busy Bragging about how easy it was to fly the plane really fast and saying he had shot down 15 enemy Huns.
Viv looked bored and told him to be quiet, Sarah decided to count the tee leafs in her cup!
Mouse said he had to go to prison! "Fank goodness for that".

Phil said Mouse is being a bit naughty here, most people have a taxing disk on their car window, Mouse has a beer label!

There goes the happy man Mel and his lovely lady Viv who is no doubt happy that she does not have to tell any more lies!
Truthfully Babs would like to fank all the Peelots at "Fly365" at Wickenby for all their help in making the day such a success!
Babs would also like to fank all the Flitters (Well only Phil actually) and the Plumbers for all their help.
Also fanks to the people in Prison who gave their cash to Mouse without so much as a punch being thrown!
